Use of Attorneys

The president of San Diego State University has decided that attorneys will not be allowed at a disciplinary conference and generally will not be allowed at a hearing. The two exceptions will be (1) where a student has criminal charges pending arising from the same incident and (2) where the recommended sanction is expulsion. In those cases, the student may have an attorney present as an advisor only. Should a student wish to have his or her attorney present, the student must notify the Judicial Coordinator, or his/here designee in charge of the case, in writing at least three working days prior to the hearing.
